What I did was I put these into the app one by one and played them. Like for example I found a list of our counties tones on the wiki and I wasn't sure how accurate they were. I liked using it to confirm tones by ear. But besides that, its a pretty neat little app. In the wrong hands, this app can be dangerous. The local FD assumed they used an app similar to this and most likely used one of those cheap Chinese radios that can key into any frequency. I have heard of an instance where someone used this app(or something like it) and randomly started setting off peoples pagers. I like the app, BUT, it really is dangerous. I have done this a few times to test my tones in my pager(Don't worry, I changed my pager and radio to a FRS frequency, that way it would only set off mine). The only way it could activate a pager is if you placed a radio near the phone and played the tones. I have used this app multiple times before. Two-tone (Motorola Minitor®) sequential pager dispatch generator.Īllows user input of tone frequencies, tone durations and an optional voice dispatch message. I will also post a cut and paste of the information. If you google Ted Tones Out you will see the application and the minimal details of the app. I honestly do not understand how this could work but hopefully someone on here knows about it and could let me know. I could find VERY little info online other then the very basic info about the app itself.Īccording to what I could find, this app allows the user to "page" a Motorola Minitor pager if the user knows the 2 frequency's. Sorry if this has been talked about before but I could not find anything by searching the site.Ī fellow Fire Fighter in our county called tonight to ask about this application.
